Disclaimer: Since we are not a licensed software developer, you operating system may not run the program straight away. It can also get blocked by your antivirus software.
Windows 10 Users: Windows SmartScreen may prevent the program from running. If this is the case press the 'More Info' link and the press 'Run anyway'.
Mac Users: When the application downloads it is treated as a text file. To change it to be an executable file follow the instructions below before running it.
To start select 'Browse Files' or 'Browse Folders' to select multiple files or a single folder to process. If a folder is selected the program will process the files inside of the folder but will not search for files within folders contained inside the selected folder.
After you select a file or folder the window will display a list of files it will process. If you wish to remove a file from the list you can right click on the name of that particular file and it will be removed from the list.
Next you have the option to add a template to influence the cleaning and analysis done by the program. The most effective way to use this is to make a template after you have generated a report to improve it by running the program again with the template. To help you make templates there is a utility on the Data-oracle website which you can find in the toolbar above, or the link in the program window.
Next you can run the program and view the results by selecting either 'View Report' or 'Export'. 'View Report' will open a new tab in your default web browser and display a html file containing the results of the analysis of your file. If multiple files are processed then multiple tabs will be opened. This is good for getting a detailed analysis of your files which tell you what errors have been found and where they are, as well as some basic metrics of your data. 'Export' will record the results of the analysis in a file with the user specifies. The default file type is a csv file but any format will work. These reports contain less information but provide good summaries of files for users analysing several files at once. They provide information such as number of errors, invalid rows and empty columns.
